Pak64 Add-ons and Graphics / P****enger Set Ideas
Might be... who knows? :·)

All based in standard set, to avoid having the double decker on 1900 and to steep wagon intro dates. Also, player colouring is always welcome (IMO).

Still wondering if I could reduce it yet keep the feeling. Perhaps Regional Vth age is a bit redundant but I want 220kph consists for powerful locs, and HST for around 500kph, thus the need.

Pak64 Add-ons and Graphics / Re: Steaming in trough the back door
Been doing some sketches.

I've divided the wagon types in:

Shuttle, high capacity, low speed

Regional, mid capacity, mid speed

Express, low capacity, high speed

Of course, capacities related to size, early express coaches are larger than the shuttle ones. Ah, and those cute Mitropa restaurant coaches too... In secondary player colouring.

Muy chulo si señor!

Estaba pensando...

Ahora in serious,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tram

Existieron tranvías de vapor, de hecho las primeras líneas de Madrid, caballos aparte, tenían uno muy cuco, parecido a una caja de zapatos con ruedas y soltando jumo negro a gogó.

Hi PlayTrans2009,

I find it surprising that you took the time to do that graph but not to test it yourself.

There you can see how (in the main image) the train is unloading wood into the transfer station. On the bottom right pic, the second train is picking up that wood to bring it to the final customer.

Hi lads,

posting work so far.

Still needs HVAC systems, lower structure windowing and colour.

Just claiming it ;)

Fine then, as soon as I'm able to contact Iz for all the data regarding my e-mail, I can start with some bits. (or somehow find my wiki p****word in one of my old simutrans-related paper documentation) (or change my p****word retrieval e-mail)

Pak64 Add-ons and Graphics / Re: Engine request for pak64
Now I'm thinking how rude it was not to praise those french engines, lovely!

I would add some shading to the second one though, especially roof and sides.

I don't think pak64 has vehicles longer than size 8 as a standard, but you're right, for lenght around 20-22m the correct size is 8. (Cl**** 31 is size 7, being around 17m long)

now some info on the BRCl****31:

it was there after all ;)

Web & Wiki / Re: Revamping EN Simutrans Wiki - community work
Hi Frank,

thanks for the info.

Because of wiki parts like this:

http://en.wiki.simutrans.com/index.php/Urban_Renewal_64

(Check history of that one)

I just recalled I did have an account there (Raven)

But trying to log in with my usual p****words doesn't get me trough.

I've also tried sending me an e-mail, but I don't receive it. Anywhere

EDIT: I'm thinking I had an account on .simutrans domain, but the changes, the other forum lost... I think I did have the address somewhere there (in a private message from Isaac).

Web & Wiki / Re: Revamping EN Simutrans Wiki - community work
Hi lads, since I'm relearning all the basics regarding makeobj and such, it'd be little h****le for me to p**** that information onto the .en wiki.

Problem is I don't have a clue which e-mail address is linked to my old "Raven" account. Nor the yahoo, nor the hotmail, and definitively not the gmail or the one from my co.

:·/ I'm at a loss here.

Pak64 Add-ons and Graphics / Re: Diesel engines (Vossloh, GE 8-40, Cl**** 40 D200,etc.. )
No, I think I expressed myself badly here, sorry.

That diesel there is overlapping itself, that diesel was made by me a looong time ago, with a distorted (elongated) side view so that there would be no gaps between wagons. This was because on diagonal tracks trains where (inside the game) longer than they should.

Now it would seem that this is corrected, so nothing to worry about.

Quite nice, vilvoh.

Will you code them to appear in the usual US arrangement?

http://4rail.net/4rail_pics_2007/usa_bnsf_dash9s_trio_graintrain_seattle_200711_L.jpg

just linking because of huge pic size, get the idea below:

Oh, wait! I've been toying around, they're very nice! You've got to introduce me to your 3d to pixel methods.

Doing that test makes me wonder if diagonal (NE, NW, SE and SW) lengths have been corrected. Well, it doesn't really, it shows! :·) No more 3d distorting to get right sizes!

Pak64 Add-ons and Graphics / Re: Steaming in trough the back door
Ah, that max lenght 11 thing is surely useful. But as it is, 20m trains (such as those you see above) are s:8, there's no real room for S10 or even S11.

If we wanted to resize the whole set of trains to be a bit of pixels more high and width, perhaps, but I think Simutrans little scale is nice enough, though it has some problems for a standard set:

- Variations in scale and style

The ones that strike me the most are (check them out in your depot):

The adler, since it's too bright

My JNR C11, too large

All the diesel shunters, too large

Br234, too large

- Lacks engines for a continuous timeline

http://forum.simutrans.com/index.php?topic=177.0

and check out this excelent study:

http://www.akrangard.cz/simutrans/991.cgi?lang=us

Though I admit I left halfway most of the stuff I had done for the XIXth century set.

Regards

The E94 is in fact there, third one from the bottom, would be my guess.

At the moment I'm fighting with scale. Adapting sizes to all-time cl****ic hajo's BR234.

It's no easy thing to get sufficiently accurate engines with such little sizes, as shown in BR118.

Ok, this is what I've been doing:

I took Simutrans original engines:

Column 1, first engine is Prissi's F7A. Recognizable, player coloured. As good as it gets.

Column 1, second engine is A.Brose excelent BR234. Though as you would have realised, it's way too big.

Column 1, third engine, is my humble adaptation of BR234 using what I considered standard Size 8 engine sprite, Hajo's cl****ic Cl**** 218 (Column 4).

Column 2, would be, in order: British rail Cl**** 47, British rail Cl**** 87 without and with pantograph. Player coloured and standard sizing.

Column 3 are some adaptations of the steamers seen in my first post in this thread, all S8, showing British rail locomotive Royal Scott 2Co0 in player colour livery. British rail locomotive cl**** A4 in player colour livery, and finally the Royal Scott in pure black.

Column 5 is Sojo's 188, a nice engine with standard scale.

Column 6 would be a simple metro emu train, or without front windows, a p****enger wagon. Just a doodle.

Ah, I've got to get the rust out!

Let's see if I can setup makeobj, find some of the source's graphics, keep up with news and run some tests with these graphics. (I've seen a thread by prissi requesting some engines which is at least 8 months old!).

Hi mobo,

Those are all from a set of Crocodile locomotives I prepared sooooo long time ago.

I was looking trough the net to get some of my old sprites and came with the crocodile template (see, they're close to but not in player colours). But don't seem to be able to find it

I can't tell now which is which, but I'm sure you'll find SBB Ce 6/8 (it's the one you asked for, bottom left corner).

There you go, courtesy of www.railwaymania.com

Pak64 Add-ons and Graphics / Steaming in through the back door
Hi fellow Simutrans people,

Seems things are more relaxed from my point of view (if not more relaxed, I'm getting a bit more organized, a problem that has been a nightmare for me once I started working). Last time I tried to come back I had to confront some issues all of a sudden, which crushed my efforts to return to Simutrans.

So please bear my inconsistence.

Anyway!

Let me say hi then with some little pixels composed into english engines.

Randomness Lounge / Re: Stupid Question : Why Raven as a guest?
Well...

I guess an explanation is due.

Real life was a drama source some time ago, and I don't really like drama perpetuating or overflooding, so I decided to stop it right there, right then. Those days, I often used Simutrans to evade, the problem is it also prevented me to solve what was really troubling me.

Now, nearly 2 years after, a lot of stuff has come and gone.

23 years, close to 24 now.

Still trying to get trough the two careers I'm knee deep in.

Been to many places, travelled a lot across the country.

Worked in a varied sort of projects.

Finally got to meet some people at university, got to play some old tablegames.
Stellar crusade? Formula Dé?

Working for an engineering bureau, for nearly 10 months now, but not yet in Iran! Madrid is fine for me.

Also done some pixelworks

And after losing everything yet again (sigh), I got to start again with Blender.
(Here you have a wide screen wall paper)

http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii306/GranCuervoRojo/emdf7-st2.png

I've recently moved to a student apartment in 82th Princesa Street, quite interesting views I must add!

Got this little jewel

And not much more really! Learnt a lot of things these past months, and the tinkering yards are open again.

Hope you people are fine, it's been a long while.

Best regards

PD: Sorry for closing the acount Isaac, I needed a radical change back then.
