Pak96.comic / Re: pak96.comic Translation Questions
Did you note that there's a spacebar before them? Without, it doesn't work.
For quite a few units (like kg etc) it looks ok to not have a space between the number and the unit, so it is implemented not to place a space there... Then other more wordlike units (like crates, barrels etc) have made their appearance, and then the translator needs to add the space manually... If it does NOT look ok in your language without a space, then you need to add the space manually for all units...

I am not a native English speaker, so "look ok" might be a wrong ****umption on my behalf... if it is not ok, then perhaps a request to always add the space between number and unit would be in order?

I wondered why "tonnen" is an extra translation string.
But if it is " tonnen" than it is clear for me.
Hm, I guess there is something with inheritance of strings that I am missing... There IS a string tonnen (http://simutrans-germany.com/translator/script/edit.php?obj_id=30614&version=0&obj_type=program_text) in base texts, should that not then be used if there is no string in the pakset file overriding it?

Incorporated Patches and Solved Bug Reports / Re: [idea] Auto signal building
Yes I did, maybe I did something wrong when building?

EDIT: Trying to reproduce, but failing... It is a bit odd for which direction the signals are placed, but I will get used to it. If I see it again, I will report back, but in the meantime consider it a non-problem!

EDIT 2: I modified the English help text adding the line: ''Signals will be built allowing trains to p**** only in the direction you dragged the mouse.'' Please inform me if this is not correct.

Incorporated Patches and Solved Bug Reports / Re: [idea] Auto signal building
It seems to me that the tool does not respect the directionality of existing signals. Could it be modified to do so?

F ex when adding more signals to allow more trains to queue up at a "meeting stretch" I usually start by placing oneway signals with the correct direction set on the "exit spur" at each end. However, then using the signal spacing tool gave me signals with no directionality set, forcing me to go over each signal individually to set the correct direction... then the time I saved using the tool was extremely small.. .*smile*

Incorporated Patches and Solved Bug Reports / Re: [idea] Auto signal building
incorporated in rev 3830. New help file: signal_spacing.txt. See attachment.

Edit: help file already imported into simu-translator.
I find the help text easily enough in SimuTranslator, but I am having problem locating the strings in the dialogue themselves... (signal spacing, remove interm. signals, replace other signals and set signal spacing) Are they available for translation?

Pak64.German / Question on trams in 102.2.2e
I just started a new game in 1910 and built a tram line. According to the wiki/SimuTranslator, there should only be Berliner Pferdebahn available until 1913. However, in my tram depot I find a vehicle called SOJO_pw2_tram, which clearly is an adaptation of the SOJO_pw2 (1882-1965). The SOJO_pw2_tram is introduced 05.1882 and retired 01.1913.

It is all fine to have another tram car besides the Berliner Pferdebahn, but I am unsure how it is intended to be used. At the time the only available "locomotive" is a pair of tram horses; but the car cannot be directly attached to them. However, if I first place a Berliner Pferdebahn-car after the horses, then I can attach any number of SOJO_pw2_tram after that; which of course immediately pushes the stop requirements to 2 tiles as well as make the convoy to heavy for the tram horses to pull (0 km/h given in the depot dialogue). If the car is intended to be pulled by the tram horses, surely there is a constraint error here?

At first I thought it was possibly pulled by an electric tram, but electrifying the depot gives no extra electricity tab, nor any alternative locomotives. And since it is set to retire 1913, I will not be able to run it after the introduction of the T13_TW in 1913 either (regardless of how the constraints are set on that tram). On rail I run the SOJO_pw2 pulled by the electric SOJO_ET184 (1904-1965).

Now to the question... *smile* Is my pak messed up, or is the introduction of the SOJO_pw2_tram only partially ready? I cannot find any mention of it in the 102.2 change logs...

Pak64.German / Re: pak.german - 0.102.2.2
I am getting a start up error when loading a savegame:

Code: [Select]
FATAL ERROR: fabrik_t::rdwr()
no besch for Druckerei
Aborting program execution ...

So no printing works....

When I start a new game (w/o timeline), it works, but switching to public player and trying to place industries only gives the list in the image. Is there something wrong with my installation, or is this a slimmed down pak.german intended only for network games? Or is it an update to be applied on top of an existing installation?

EDIT: It seems it was an update not a full pakset I installed. Problem solved. Using the download explicitly marked as full works like a charm. Sorry for troubling you.

Pak64 / Vehicles in pak64
For my own benefit (and possibly for other's as well) I have started collating a pak64 vehicle roster, which includes also the depot tab under which the vehicle is found along with information about the power and the modifier (referred to as gear) by which the power is multiplied when calculating f ex acceleration: I have given this multiplied value for easier comparison.

I chose to add these values since I sometimes do not find the vehicle under the tab where I would expect it to be; and because I often am surprised by how useless/useful certain locos are for the task I try to put them to. I have the distinct impression that modifier values (gear) is missing on several locos, but without an overview I cannot pinpoint which ones.

I have barely started and a huge amount of vehicles of all types remain to be added - don't expect it to happen overnight! Of course, if anyone feels like adding more vehicles - it is a wiki! *smile*

The data may be found on http://simutrans-germany.com/wiki/wiki/tiki-index.php?page=en_pak64_vehicles

Extension Requests / Re: P****engers and goods generation timeline
IMHO if such a time line is introduced, it should be set in relation to the average speed of the vehicles of a certain time period -since the amount of travellers IS in fact related to how long the journey will take.... Maybe the speed bonus limits could be reused in some way?

Web & Wiki / Please review scenario creation presentation
I translated the German page about creating scenarios on the tikiwiki into http://simutrans-germany.com/wiki/wiki/tiki-index.php?page=en_CreatingScenarios and then I added the scenario configuration files from pak/scenario as examples (I hope that is ok with you prissi?). However, I am uncertain if there has been any development on the scenario front since the German page was written (it claims to be based on 0.100.0).

I have been searching the forum, and found a very interesting discussion initiated by Dwachs about moving to xml and extending the scenario schema, but that seems to have been laid aside (I presume too much other more important things to do...).

So if anyone that is more familiar with the existing system for creating scenarios would like to review and expand the page I mentioned above, I would be most grateful.... :)

Web & Wiki / Re: Tranferring Wiki texts to Simutrans-Germany Wiki
Verified that the information from http://en.wiki.simutrans.com/index.php/Freight_type is included in http://simutrans-germany.com/wiki/wiki/tiki-index.php?page=en_Goods.

BTW: Adding info to the tikiwiki is easy, but if any of you still feel that this is too much of a hurdle, feel free to add comments on the wiki page(or post them here!) about  errors and crucial (misleading) omissions on the pages.

EDIT 1: Added information from http://en.wiki.simutrans.com/index.php/Speed_bonus into the Goods list description on http://simutrans-germany.com/wiki/wiki/tiki-index.php?page=en_GoodsList.

"financial metrics may be reviewed to allow you to make strategic decisions" and
"Customizable graphs on the dialog allow you to visually look at trends from as far back as 100 years"
Noted, and tikiwiki page (slightly) modified, to include the gist of the above - not so sure about the 100 years, feel free to add that tidbit (along with instructions on how to display such a time frame to http://simutrans-germany.com/wiki/wiki/tiki-index.php?page=en_finances) *smile*

Further: Info on http://en.wiki.simutrans.com/index.php/Convoy transferred to en_Vehicles_and_Convoys.

EDIT: Info on http://en.wiki.simutrans.com/index.php/Way_type included (with heavy purging) on http://simutrans-germany.com/wiki/wiki/tiki-index.php?page=en_Roads_and_Railroads

Web & Wiki / Re: Tranferring Wiki texts to Simutrans-Germany Wiki
I have verified that all content on http://en.wiki.simutrans.com/index.php/Destroy/Remove is included on http://simutrans-germany.com/wiki/wiki/tiki-index.php?page=en_remover adding what was missing. The en.wiki...-page may be blanked by someone with editing rights there.

EDIT: Likewise with http://en.wiki.simutrans.com/index.php/Capture; the information is found on http://simutrans-germany.com/wiki/wiki/tiki-index.php?page=en_take_screenshot. Please blank en.wiki-page.

EDIT 2: Again with http://simutrans-germany.com/wiki/wiki/tiki-index.php?page=en_FastForward; information stored at http://simutrans-germany.com/wiki/wiki/tiki-index.php?page=en_FastForward

EDIT 3: (Running out of synonyms *grin*) Yet again with http://en.wiki.simutrans.com/index.php/Inspection_Tool; info on http://simutrans-germany.com/wiki/wiki/tiki-index.php?page=en_inspection

EDIT BY IgorEliezer: I've blanked the pages. Thank you.

EDIT 4: All information on http://en.wiki.simutrans.com/index.php/Finance_dialog that is not already on http://simutrans-germany.com/wiki/wiki/tiki-index.php?page=en_finances seems to be blatantly wrong... (loans?, in Simutrans? if there where any, it was before my time....)

EDIT BY IgorEliezer: See my post below.

Extension Requests / Re: Names for Depots
I support the idea of names for both depots and factories, but for me it would be mostly a question of flavor (at least as far as factories are concerned); but then flavor is important too *smile* Having an autoname function similarly to stops and attractions would be very nice.

However, IMHO it is not a high-priority question.

Web & Wiki / Re: Tranferring Wiki texts to Simutrans-Germany Wiki
Please someone could kindly transfer the article Creating_addons (http://en.wiki.simutrans.com/index.php/Creating_addons) to Simutrans Simutrans-Germany TikiWiki (http://wiki.simutrans-germany.com)?

The simutrans.com still points to the old wiki. I think it's interesting to have it in new wiki. (I'm working on simutrans.com update)
Well, I have started: http://simutrans-germany.com/wiki/wiki/tiki-index.php?page=en_AddonsOverview There are still some images to be uploaded etc. Though I think the page needs reworking to fit into the pages that are alreadly on the tikiwiki...

Extension Requests / Re: Numbered waypoints
I'm pretty sure that if you open up the map and enable "show schedules", the map will display all points, including waypoints, a line has. You have to highlight the line in the line management menu.
Indeed it does that, and in that view there is a number (f ex (5) waypoint), but when looking at the vehicle info dialogue for a particular vehicle, it states only Waypoint as Destination.
I want to be able to know without stopping a train by opening it schedule towards _which_ way point that particular train is heading... If the Destination was (5) Waypoint instead of just Waypoint, I would ask for nothing more... (well... that might not be totally true *smile*)
29
Extension Requests / Re: Numbered waypoints
Well that would be helpful as well, but I was primarily thinking of the vehicle dialogue itself, where the Destination is frequently shown only as Waypoint.
30
Extension Requests / Numbered waypoints
I would find it very helpful if the way points that constitute part of a schedule/line was numbered. The numbering should be local to the schedule/line and simply(?) show the order of the waypoint within the schedule/line, the first being waypoint 1 etc. This would help me locate where in schedules/lines that a problem has occurred for a blocked convoy without having to open up its schedule window - which sometimes will compound the problem (the train was about to be unblocked and leave, and opening its schedule freezes it in its tracks...)

Simutrans Help Center / Re: shipping tutorial
Is your tanker trying to transport the oil to a factory that has a contract with the oil rig, and if so, is the entire transport chain in place? If you need to reload to f ex train to be able to deliver the oil, then the train needs to be in place before the oil tanker picks up any oil from the oil rig.
