As announced here (with instructions):
New forum language interfaces
 http://forum.simutrans.com/index.php?topic=1167.0
The forum has just received two language interfaces: Czech and Spanish. I had chosen these two languages because Spanish and Czech boards are the biggest boards of this forum.
I could have installed 9 languages in forum right now. But if something goes wrong, it'd be a pain to remove ~1500 files from forum directory. :(
So, I would like to receive some feedbacks and reports to see if the language interfaces are working well.
If OK, we'll install all other languages... :)
Spanish Es works correctly but I miss some untranslated words (My messages, profile, etc..) Anyway, this is a matter of the language pack. I posted an announcement in ES board, so I'm waiting for more feedback from spanish speakers users.
Btw, are you sure there's not another easiest way to remove language packs? AFAIR, you have to remove them manually, haven't you?
I hate translations, since usually they are incomplete, use confusing words, change sizes of interface parts, texts don't fit in buttons etc. 100% grammar error juice from natural fruit, guaranteed!
Heh. And on the old forum, everyone else used translated version anyway. The trend here will not be different. So, you will have to forgive me and be happy that you helped all other residents of my subforum :)
Also, one thing is now fixed - at least Czech files no longer break forum encoding, so using them does not separate users into two groups who can't read the others' messages.
I don't know if we could translate some untranslated words ourselves. I have the PHP files of the language packs, it would help?
I could say "yes". But as I'm not a super-web-Xpecialist...
Docs.simplemachines says all files must be uploaded via FTP. You drop a "Theme" folder into forum directory and all sub-folders with files will be merged each other.
:D
I had installed an UTF-8 version and a standard one to see how both will work: standard vesion messed everything up, as you said, then I had to keep UTF-8 version.
Seems no problem happened since I installed the packs. Today I'll install French and Portuguese language pack.
Thanks for helping me.
I'm afraid we will have to translate everything file by file, but if possible would be better to colaborate on translating the
official language pack. This way, it will be always available for us in case something happens. I mean, if we do a home-made translation just for the forum, it may get lost. If we update the official packs, we don't have to take care about anything more than translating. Ok, we do the dirty and annoying work but "that's all".
It's strange. There's no remove language pack link or option in the control panel? If they're stored in different directories, you can remove them with a single php instruction.
