Title: Cirillic letters
Post by: MaxKalina on January 25, 2009, 09:16:38 am
Hy! I am from Russia.
In the new version it is impossible to write on Cyrillics, instead of Russian letters there are unusual symbols. Is there is a possibility to correct it?
Thank you!

I mean version for Windows with SDL. GDI version what is it? Is it Windows native? What is the difference between Windows native and Windows with SDL?

Windows with SDL use the SDL-Grafik-Libary.
Positiv: The Libary is portable (Windows Linux)
Negativ: Other Fonts the the Latine is a Problem (Cirillic, Japan ....)

Windows GDI use the native Windows Grafik Code.
Positiv: More Fonts work
Negativ: Only Windows

P.S. I hope you understand my english)

Completing wernieman's post, from the archived topic GDI vs SDL? (http://archive.forum.simutrans.com/topic/05989.0/index.html)
Quote
GDI uses Windows API functions and SDL uses the SDL library functions. So the GDI one is more native for windows.
On the other hand, SDL for windows should be able to use DirectDraw and therefore be even faster...
