Title: help with pre-signals
Post by: EnternalD on August 17, 2008, 02:20:26 pm
I don't understand pre-signals in simutrans. In ex. if I want make track as showed below what i must do?
In Simutrans that kind of layout not working. Trains if one track reserved should go to another way.
However train stops near pre-signals and don't go to free p****age.
Why? If that layout isn't possible why there are pre-signals? ???
show me how to use them.
P.S. I know that roundabout is more efective. Sorry for bad drawing quality I was hurry.

Well, pre-signals won't help you then. If  both double track parts contain a platform on which the trains stop then you  could use choose-signals. Otherwise you can't use this layout in the way you want.

What are you trying to do, e.g. why do you need this layout?

So pre-signals are designed to allow reserve track for the trains and gain priority. In example, if one of the trains is in second block and going at same way, then second train goes only if block is clear. Still thanks. However Simutrans need some advanced guide, which could contain strategies, examples of junction, with photos and so on. As far as I know there is no such a guide. A little bit pity.
