A new version of Simutrans-Experimental (including a new version of Makeobj-Experimental) is available to-day. It makes one or two small enhancements, contains some minor fixes, and incorporates the latest fixes and changes from the Simutrans-Standard trunk. In particular, it should now work when compiled for 64-bit platforms (although, as ever, on most common 64-bit platforms, the 32-bit binary will work just as well and at least as fast in any event). See here (http://forum.simutrans.com/index.php?topic=1894.0) for more information on how to get Simutrans-Experimental for various platforms. A list of the changes follows:
Changes- FIX: Instability and crashes in 64-bit builds
- CHANGE: Changed the default electricity coverage to 100% (was 33%)
- CHANGE: Changed the default p****enger factor to 10 (was 16)
- ADD: Tooltip for "isometric view" button in the map window.
- FIX: Occasional random crash relating to city cars.
- CODE: Fix some compiler warnings
- ADD: New option, "hilly landscape" to the map generation. Produces a slightly different effect to increasing the mountain height, and enables an even more mountainous terrain than was previously possible. (This option enables some previously abandoned code)
- FIX: Debugging artefact removed: default fixed maintenence costs back to 0. (Bernd Gabriel)
- ADD: fixed maintenance costs shown in finance window. (Bernd Gabriel)
- CHANGE: There is no need to get player or check if player is NULL more than once. (Bernd Gabriel)
- CHANGE: add maintenance costs to player only once at the end of the tunnel building process like done with construction costs. (Bernd Gabriel)
Feedback and testingAs ever, all feedback is very much appreciated: most of the bugs fixed so far have been found by members of this forum. All bug reports, feedback as to how the game is balanced compared to Simutrans-Standard, how well that the new features of Simutrans-Experimental work, and any other thoughts on Simutrans-Experimental are most welcome. Also, I should very much appreciate anyone who has been playing Simutrans-Experimental for a while to post their saved games on this (http://forum.simutrans.com/index.php?topic=2440.0) thread, or, if you are so inclined, start a transport journal of the sort started by LiefInge here (http://forum.simutrans.com/index.php?topic=2176.0). Happy playing!
