Hi!
Please forgive me if this is posted in the wrong place. I couldn't decide whether to post this in this forum or in the pak128 forum.
My question is: what is the purpose of the digital road choose sign (who would have guessed :) ).
I am running pak128 1.4.5 and Simutrans 102.0.
Thank you in advance for your help!
A 'choose sign' will cause a truck (in this case) to look at the next stop in its schedule, and see if the stop tile is free. If it is free, it will reserve it. If it is not free, it will look to see if the stop has any other truck stop tiles; if there are any, it will reserve one and proceed to that tile (instead of the exact tile in its schedule - for that time only). If there are not stops free, it will stop and wait for one to become available.
I think that's about the simplest way to explain all the behavior (****uming I didn't miss something). And I think that's the exact way it works, though I'm not a coder, so I may be a bit off... :)
Choose signs (also available for rail) are useful for some types of gameplay.. :)
choosesigns and presignals are great tools in a railnetwork! I still cannot figure out what the longsignals do though :(

For long signals, see this topic: http://forum.simutrans.com/index.php?topic=1091.15 (http://forum.simutrans.com/index.php?topic=1091.15)
So, in essence, the Digital Road Choose Sign works just like the Choose Destination sign?
Is one better than the other one (ie. the Digital Road Choose sign costs ~1000 more than the Choose Destination sign)?
There is no difference in function at all.
They were most likely made by different people is all :)
Thanks everyone!
