Title: Upgrading from 100.0 to 102 on Ubuntu Linux
Post by: blindape on July 27, 2009, 10:21:07 am
Hi

I recently tried upgrading from version 100 which worked perfectly to version 102.  I downloaded the executable and the pak file for 102, I extracted them into the same folder.  When I went to run simutrans I got the following error.

./simutrans: command not found

I do still have the earlier version installed on the computer so I was wondering if that was interfering with the upgrade.

Regards,

John Curwood

So, I guess you overwrited the old executable and pak folder, didn't you?

This is probably due to the executable not being marked as executable. Easiest way to check and correct is to right click simutrans and select properties / permissions There should be a tick in the box near the bottom, allow this file to run as a program. By default files are not usually imported as runnable for security reasons.

Hope this helps.

I thought the problem might be there too, but as I usually use the console to run Simutrans on Linux, I didn't realize about it. Thanks for the info, weedfreak.

Thanks weedfreak, that was all that was needed. Now the new version goes perfectly.

Cheers,
