Title: Problems loading save games remains
Post by: sanna on November 12, 2009, 11:29:05 am
The problem upon loading games I reported in http://forum.simutrans.com/index.php?topic=2744.0 is still causing me problems... I get
Quote
Calculating textures ...FATAL ERROR: planquadrat_t::rdwr()
Error while loading game: Unknown ground type '-1'
Was prissi's fix for standard ever incorporated into experimental?

Sanna,

apologies for the delay in reply: I have only just got broadband working in my new flat. The problem that you describe occurs in many situations where Simutrans tries to load a saved game that is either corrupted or incompatible. Are you having trouble loading games that you have saved using Simutrans-Experimental 7.0, or games saved using other versions of Experimental or Standard, or both? And are you using the Linux or Windows version?

Update on this topic: Bernd Gabriel and I (mainly Bernd Gabriel) found, when testing 7.1, a problem whereby games saved with earlier versions of Pak128.Britain-Ex will cause a crash when loaded in a later version. This has been tracked down to a bug from Simutrans-Standard, and would equally apply in similar circumstances in Simutrans-Standard. Might this be your problem?

Sorry for not replying sooner. Since the last time I had problems, I have simply given testing Experimental a rest; so I do not know if the problem is solved or not... but I had problems (back then...) loading the distributed default.sve for the pak.

Sanna,

was this 7.0 with Pak128.Britain-Ex 0.3?
