Title: Linux(Ubuntu)-high CPU usage
Post by: Izzy on June 12, 2010, 08:53:11 am
Hi,
I've install ST 102.2.2 on my new machine from software centre for ubuntu  and it works but usage of CPU is so high it is not playable.
I've got  AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core 6000+, 2 GB ram, if game is running both CPU works on 85-99%whole computer is slowing down.
Any ideas?

Simutrans is not well adapted for 64 bits systems. This quote is from prissi, the head of the project.

The linux binaries are based on the the "Linux Standard Base" using GCC 3.4.3 and 32 bit (since 64 is not well suited for simutrans). For all other OS standard download on SF is the zip with the sources.

I've found the solution
I've installed Windows as second system and ST works beautifully

Thanks for all replies
