Title: [8.2 bug?] fast forward and speed / acceleration
Post by: ӔO on August 08, 2010, 09:24:35 am
I've noticed that something strange happens in this game.

At normal speed, the GWR star wins the race to the top all the time, however the results are reversed when fast forward is used.

I think I recall something similar happening to ships, but I couldn't find that thread.

I'm sorry, but I cannot reproduce this behaviour. In both cases the 3806 kW prairie tank double tractions win the race before the 2nd winners, the 1600 kW churchward stars single tractions.
But some prairie tank trains are named "star" (e.g. number (5)).

As "fast forward" speed depends on processor speed and screen refresh timing, please post some figures.
Mine are:
Processor clock: 1,8 GHz
Frame rate: 10 fps in "fast forward" mode.

I get 10fps, 100ms frame time, , 1~4ms idle, 400~450 simloops in fast forward mode

processor is 1.67ghz core2 and 3gb of ram.
