Making Signals

I'm trying to make a pakset of signals.  Can anyone tell me what all the different entries in the dat file mean (I've looked on pak64 SVN and can't make much sense of what the dat file means!)?

Thanks

I've now found Fabio's signal set on the old forum along with sources - I think I can make a bit more sense of those (as I am used to playing pak128!).  Fabio, do you mind if I use your set as a template? (in fact the graphics will also end up looking very similar, as yours are British style, but mine will face the other way!)

One further question - in what situations is the "presignal third phase" used?

Awesome, thanks!  I think I can read most of the German anyway.

Just one quick additional question: Does simutrans ****ume that all signals are drawn for draw-on-right mode? If yes, this information should go on the wiki.

In pak128.japan there are some problems with signals, which imho originate from this implicit ****umption.

Signals will be put on other side for drive_left automagically.

Not in my version (r2319).

In past versions that I've used, it seems to have worked for me.

What is the problem ?

Signals for track don't change the left-right position.
So, if we make a left side signals, it will be drawn in the front of trains, and right side signals will be behinded by train.
Pak128.japan is the same. We know this.

Signals for track don't change the left-right position.

did not know this.

Could this be solved, if makeobj allows the definition of back/front-images for signals too, as it is for instance implemented for way-objects?
