Vista Home Premium (64 bit) - Installs, but won't Initialize

Unzipped on a Vista Home Premium (64 bit).  I checked and the files are in the directory structure shown in the Tutorial Install.

It starts Loading, and at about 1/2 way it stops.

I have done some reading and changed the config file to default load the pak (64) file.

I also tried changing the Windows compatability mode to XP SP2.

The last line of the command window is "Reading object data from pak/..."

It does show after Loading the BDF Font 'font/Prop-Latin1.bdf' a line that says "Unexpected character (255) for 255 character font!" and then "Loading BDF fon font/Prop-Latin1.bdf with 255 characters

My system specs:  Intel Core Quad Q8600 2.3GHz 6GB RAM 1.5 TB HDD Intel G45 Video (Dual Display 1-1900x1200, 2 - 1280x1024)

Would love to check the game out, but first need to get it running...

Which version you are using? ANd which settings? WIth GDI version without fullscreen it should not be a problem. Too old version had problems with folder virtualisation.

Version is 102

This is a new install for me, so default settings.  The only change I made was to specify the pak (64) in the simuconf.tab.

Not sure what you mean by GDI version.  And I don't know how to set fullscreen (or any resolution for that matter).

I am new to simutran, and this is a brand new install on a new computer.

I just unzipped it to my D:\Games directory.  Could that be the problem?
I now have D:\Games\simutrans.  In that I have the layout like the tutorial screen shot.

Here is some additional information that might help out.

I installed the pak128, went back to the original simuconf.tab.  When I ran the program, I was able to select pak128 and it loaded up properly.

I then quit pak128, started up again and selected pak (64) and it hung.

So, I will start playing with pak128 and see how it goes.

Hope this is helpful for your debugging...
