Actually, people who can't complete the journey with my connections shouldn't start with my company at all.
But the idea is nice, and this could even be combined with a degredation of the remaining amount over time: People will eventually be fed up by the time spent (waiting, on slow vehicles or on detours), and continue with a taxi or by hitchhiking - people would disappear from the station, but thereby increasing the remaining (average) amount per person. It can also be combined with QoS (comfort+speed) rating.
