Pak crossover possibility May 07, 2009, 03:42:11 pm Good morning, Recently while exploring Japanese Pak128 addons I found a real cool looking road train pak. Will these vechiles run on pak128 vs 100 and do you need a special loading dock for multiple trailers? Thank you Quote Selected
Re: Pak crossover possibility Reply #1 – May 07, 2009, 03:55:19 pm anything with the same scale should transfer to another pak of the same scale (so yes in your case). For your second question, you need to make sure the length of the station is at least as long as the length of the convoy. If the road-train is 2 tiles long, you need to make sure all the stops are 2 tiles long as well. Quote Selected

Re: Pak crossover possibility Reply #3 – May 07, 2009, 05:21:48 pm Hmm, looking at pak128 there are no "through" goods stations, only termini, but that is a pak-set problem. Pak128.Britain has through goods stops, which haven't been released as a pak yet, but if you want to compile them using makeobj then the sources are on sourceforge. I don;t know if pak128.Japan has through stations though. Quote Selected

Like this:===BT*shakes fist* Beat me by an hour... heh. (It's rare I have a solution, and before reading your post, I was excited that I could finally help with something )This is exactly the solution to use. Please note, however, that at least for a while, if you use a choose sign for trucks, and have multiple-tile stations, it will not work. I believe a solution is in the works, but I'm not sure when it'll be rolled out (and perhaps it is in the latest nightlies - but I'm not sure)... So this situation becomes less useful for lines where you want to use multiple stations and a choose-sign.Of course, you can design your network to allow enough space for waiting trucks outside the station, since you can use a Private Road sign to keep out pesky citycars, and fence off the road if you're near a city so the city can't connect and mess up your station... :-) Then you just need two tiles per truck on the line...One other note: As long as your station has one tile of any kind that supports p****/mail/goods, then entire station does. So if you want to create a truck through-station, you can use all bus station tiles and connect a warehouse or something to the station... Quote Selected
Re: Pak crossover possibility Reply #6 – May 07, 2009, 08:05:40 pm Sorry, I need could use want cheap help desk karma points, too By the way, road stops work the same way as rail stations - if you build a few bus stops in a row and add warehouse to enable cargo handling, you've got n-tile long "road platform", just as you would have platform of train station. Re: Pak crossover possibility Reply #8 – May 07, 2009, 09:44:17 pm Thanks everyone. The suggestions work great. Its neat having multi trailer units. Perhaps they could be offered as a pak 128 regular addon! Just a thought. Thanks again Quote Selected
