routing issue November 27, 2009, 05:38:48 pm I've routed this train through a few stations. Each end of the line is closed and the only way for the train to go from the beginning/end of the route is to turn around automatically (like in openttd) but all I get is a message saying route cannot be found Quote Selected
Re: routing issue Reply #1 – November 27, 2009, 05:49:42 pm Sounds like there's some one-way signal involved... either accidentally (in case of single tracks) or in case of double tracks, it may be that the second track lacks connection or electrification on some part (usually hills, bridges or tunnel connections, where one canoot spot it as easily)...If all is connected and signalled properly, the train should indeed just turn around and head back.So check the route back thoroughly, there's very likely a problem you overlooked. Can't say more without screenshots or savegame. Re: routing issue Reply #2 – November 27, 2009, 06:22:56 pm do level crossings affect it? I just deleted the level crossing on that section and everything works as it should :s Quote Selected
Re: routing issue Reply #3 – November 27, 2009, 06:27:58 pm You mean a crossing of railroad track and road? No, that should have no such adverse effect. If it does, you may have discovered a bug (that, depending on what version you use, might have been fixed already in the code) Quote Selected

I dragged the tracks along the road and it created a level crossing. its the latest version of pak128.britain and the latest simutrains copy Quote Selected
Re: routing issue Reply #5 – November 27, 2009, 07:15:38 pm Don't let Igor catch you quoting me unnecessarily again! And oh, there they are again... the words I so love when it comes to versions: "the latest". :My experience has shown me, that when people claim that, they are actually quite wrong most of the time. Given your very limited experience with the game so far, I tend to put you into that majority group as well. And generally speaking "the latest" doesn't really help anybody, since it's bound to change - sometimes daily, or when people compile the sources themselves, "the lastest" version can even change several times during a single day! So please, always state exact version and revision numbers - after all that's what they are there for: so that we ware able to distinguish exactly between the different code versions. Quote Selected
Re: routing issue Reply #6 – November 27, 2009, 10:44:13 pm If you put a signal on the level crossing, it might be overdraw by the crossing. Quote Selected
