Making skins - or: how to make them?

After short discussion with Vilvoh about it via private messages I am starting this topic.

I would like to paint own skin - and so I need to know sizes of parts. By analyzis of some skins by Vilvoh I found:

1. basic tile size is 64*64 pixels
2. some signs have size 8*8 pixels
3. and some else ones have size 6*6 pixels - but I am not sure

And also I need to know compilation command for PakHelper or MakeObj.

Oh. I am sorry. I did not write I have already downloaded some Vilvoh's skins. I used

vapor alloy
poly carbon bright
pharago blend
mardi ater

as patterns for my skin
