Welcome to the forum Liam!

Please search the forum before asking a question, as it often has already been asked and answered.  From your error message, you are missing the SDL libraries, which needs to be installed separately.

It includes 3 links to possible solutions.

Also, I am a little confused by what you mean by "Unix executable file".  You should be using the Mac version of Simutrans.  The latest stable is available here:  http://forum.simutrans.com/index.php?topic=4642.0
