Convoys and cloning

I've been a fan of openTTD for a long time, untill i recently discoverd Simutrans  ;D

I love the system with lines, very user friendly. In relation to this I don't get the convoy thing though?
I'm sure there is a purpose, but at the moment it escapes me.

Besides that i ****ume there is a way to clone vehicles, but i don't know how.

any explanation or tips would be much appreciated  ;)

Hmmm... perhaps it's a terminology problem? You ****ign convoys to lines. Line is the abstract concept. Convoy is a "real" something that actually moves in the game - one or more vehicles (consists?).

Cloning is done in depot. When you edit the convoy (you can see its vehicles lined up at the top), there's this button to the right called "copy" (depends on translation). You can switch between convoys in depot with these little arrow buttons on sides of convoy name textbox.

My projects... Tools for messing with Simutrans graphics. Graphic archive - templates and some other stuff for painters. Development logs for most recent information on what is going on. And of course pak128!

So i think i'm doing something wrong, as in the depot it always says no convoys at the top.
There is a line saying new convoy, but i don't know how to create one.
I just buy a vehicle and add them to a line, what am i missing?

You just need to click over the vehicle's image, you can choose from buses to truck in the tab system, and then create a schedule, or ****ign a line for the vehicle.
I think that's what you're missing, I recommend you reading the wiki
