question: Underground slopes

I know this post is off-topic, but, I've not understood how to use underground slopes. I think that I should use a slopetool over a tunnel tile to make it change level, but I cannot do that. It comes the message "clear the tile before using a slopetool". I'm using Simutrans 102.1 r2570 with pak64 r163 and my OS is Win XP SP2.

You will need to use the vertical raise/lower tool over an existing piece of track when making underground slopes.
Download Simutrans-Extended.

I'm using r2748 with pak 64 on vista.
I really fail to understand how to make a underground slope.

As instruction here and elsewhere, I selected raise/lower tool and SHIFT+U
to go to underground mode and clicking on existing track but without no success.

I heard its been able to make under sea level tunnel using this but about an hour and half
without any gain.

This feature come in around july and nightly changed. Is this disabled for now?
Or, most probably, I'm doing this wrong.
I need some help...

Did you try the "lower or raise one square" button -- the ones which, above ground, make single raised or lowered cube tiles -- as opposed to the ones which, above ground, make little hills or valleys?

@wlindley
Before all, do we work on above ground mode or under ground mode?

So we are using slope construction?
I tried all possible combination I can think of...

EDIT2:Ok sorry I got it. I had to use, empty slope tool at last track. Thank you. :D
On down side, I can't sleep another one hour or so because I can proceed with new line!

i had the same problem in making it work. For sure the UI isn't intuitive at all.
I would like (take it as an extension request) to have two dedicated buttons in terraforming menu and the following behaviour for terraforming menu:
- overground (default) mode: up/down + slope buttons
- underground mode: two underground slope buttons (raise/lower, with dedicated graphics)
- (sliced mode: all buttons)

what do you think?

I want to extend the slope menu with four additional buttons using for down slopes; but on the other hand there is a stable produced at this weekend. Therefore any new button will go after it.
