over crowed factory depots March 22, 2010, 01:59:04 pm Good morning, Using PAK128 vs 1.4.5 I have a forest plantation that supplies 1 sawmill suppling 1 furniture factory. The forest depot is over loaded by many thousand logs. Will the supply stay overloaded until used up or will the game recycle at some point in time to a resume production level? Thank you Quote Selected
Re: over crowed factory depots Reply #1 – March 22, 2010, 02:14:40 pm Ok, first: "depot" in simutrans is the place where you buy your trains/trucks etc. You're talking about a (freight) station here as it seems...Now BTT:I'm not sure if I understand your problem though... does the transport chain still work or not?And what are your settings for "just in time", "avoid_overcrowding" and "no_routing_over_overcrowded" ? Standard or did you change any of these? And not to forget: what version of Simutrans do you play?(Oh and BTW there's a v1.4.6 available) Quote Selected
Re: over crowed factory depots Reply #2 – March 22, 2010, 02:31:20 pm Pak 128v 1.4.5 Yes I mean station not depot The chain works well and the only setting I changed is "avoid overgrowing" is on. The forest plantation supplier has over produced more logs than the sawmill demands, thus showing in red as overloaded. Will this condition remain until the sawmill uses all the backlog of supply or will the game at some point recycle back to a production level and the over crowed supply be lost? Quote Selected
Re: over crowed factory depots Reply #3 – March 22, 2010, 02:35:38 pm The logs will remain until used. You can reset this situation by removing the station and building it again (as the station disappears, the goods in it will be erased too).PS: Dirk asked your the version of the Simturans *engine* (the program) you play, not the *pak* version. I don't usually ask for information I already got... Quote"avoid overgrowing" is on.Although it is obvious what you mean, please try to be more precise.Generally speaking: If support people always have to figure out half of what everything is really supposed to mean, a lot of time is wasted. Even worse is when both sides lack precision in their statements - they can end up talking about completely different things without even noticing.QuoteWill this condition remain until the sawmill uses all the backlog of supply or will the game at some point recycle back to a production level and the over crowed supply be lost?As far as I know, like this.EDIT: seems like Zeno was a little faster. Re: over crowed factory depots Reply #7 – March 22, 2010, 02:59:10 pm Actually it's better than just good. Don't get spooked because of its apparent similarity with "terrible". Oh and grampybear:Quote from: grampybear – on March 22, 2010, 02:45:28 pmThank you and I will pay more attention to the correct use of terms in the future.Much appreciated. It's not like things couldn't be figured out eventually, but why waste so much time and effort? Hope you didn't get me wrong there. Keep playing and enjoy the game!
