Translation "Apply line"


Hi folks,

Is it common to "apply" a line to a train?
I think this is incorrect, it should say "****ign" line.
(in German it says "zuweisen" which means "to ****ign")

"****ign" is probably a better translation. Certainly, I wouldn't refer to 'applying' a line to a train in real life. I would "****ign" a train to a particular line. (I wouldn't ****ign a line to a train).

I agree. However, in the given context (depot window), it seems more practical just to say "****ign line" (or maybe "****ign to line") than to say "****ign train to line" (it's just too long).

If nobody objects, I will change the text and also check the corresponding help text for similar issues.

Oh, sure - didn't mean to imply otherwise. And "****ign line" works because it can mean "****ign [train to this] line". :)

Be carefull with the space available, specially if the text is placed in a button.

I think I was.

The italian translation also seems to say "apply". But I can't fix that.

Then, make a suggestion for the IT translation of that text and wait for the approval from the IT translators.
