Thomas The Tank Engine.

Do you think that we should put some thomas characters in the game. It's a very good suggestion

No, because that would be a copyright/trademark violation. The owners of that intellectual property would possibly license the characters to us, but that would take money.

but other people are doing things like this with trainz.

There are renders of the original trains that thomas and friends are based off of, not all of them, but they exist. The colours are obviously different, so it would require reworking these renders. You might have to ask nicely for these.

For maps, I believe there is a map of sodor on the maps website.

I don't think simutrans can offer this as an official release, but I don't think there is a problem with an individual making them for his/her own consumption. That basically means you make it yourself, for only yourself and no one else.

This is not up to debate.

If you want to make something and use it personally, that is your decision. But we have been careful to try and stay away from illegal content here. Thus, if someone else has already made things for Simutrans that are not legal, you will not find any information about it on any official Simutrans site.

I have no desire to control how other communities decide where they stand; that is up to them. I am only telling you where we stand.

i have a Thomas engine and Annie coaches in Pak 64 i found on the japanese simutrans website. ;D
