Re: some near future vehicles Reply #40 – September 26, 2010, 09:23:35 pm Sure, my method works fine with Blender, but can be exported to other softwares. It consists mainly in using masks for color replacement, quite simple. Feel free to ask details if needed Quote Selected

Re: some near future vehicles Reply #44 – September 27, 2010, 05:33:37 pm Quote from: AEO – on September 27, 2010, 12:05:29 aman easier way to do player colours?I'm all ears I'm working with sketchup.Well, the method I use is based on rendering twice: 1) first render is normal render, using the desired player colors (they will be mostly lost due to effect of lighting effects)2) second render (called "mask") modifying the texture material to NOT recieve any light effects. That way the texture is a clear and uniform color (all player colors). These is easy to do with blender, don't know about sketch-up.Once both renders are done, I use a simple replacing algorithm (my own coded tool), which replaces the color in the normal renders taking the "masks" as reference. The whole process (both renderings and processing) usually take for me about 4 or 5 minutes per vehicle. So the important thing is the ability to create the masks; if you can do that with sketch-up, you can use my tool for sure. From there it will be the ever so tedious minor alignment corrections. Quote Selected

I have SketchUP and Blender, and Sketchup have a collada(.dae) exporter for free version. So you can import in Blender. Quote Selected
Re: some near future vehicles Reply #47 – October 04, 2010, 12:12:09 am okay, so unfortunately, I have an influx of things to do and can't work on this for maybe a week or two. :But what I did do was post up the skp file, which can be opened in sketchup. I laid out one set so far, which can be used for a reference. I don't like throwing out incomplete works, but I figured no one should have to wait for my slow work and if someone could do a faster job than me, then I would certainly appreciate their contribution and work. link is on the first post.Quote from: An_dz – on September 28, 2010, 06:17:34 pmAre you sure?
