As payment is now only for the decrease in distance to the next transfer stop,
and p****engers in the simutrans do only choose the route with shortest transfer,
it is very hard to operate a circle line since it usually take p****engers to a stop which is away the next transfer point.

Take the map above as an example
If a p****enger wants to go to Tokyo from Shin-okubo.
In reality, we will transfer to the orange line from the green line at shinjuku.
But in the simutrans world, p****engers will only travel on the green line
and the operator needs to pay back the p****enger half of their way.
It is making the operator much harder to earn money.
Welcome to discuss~
Use the nightly, there you can configure it.
Sorry, I don't quite get your point...
See this website: http://simutrans-germany.com/~nightly/simutrans/index.php (http://simutrans-germany.com/~nightly/simutrans/index.php).
You will find the latest build of simutrans there. Use it at your own risk, though most of them are quite stable.
See this topic http://forum.simutrans.com/index.php?topic=1518.0 (http://forum.simutrans.com/index.php?topic=1518.0) which explains how to configure the paying model.
You can only do this in the nightly builds. It will be part of the next (102?) release.
I don't want to 'cheat' actually, but I think the mode of p****enger choosing their way should be changed so that it can become more realistic
Cheating in ST is possible in so many ways... But this is about a recent change in the program which cancels out a certain way to cheat, thereby changing the long-established way of transport fee calculation.
This is already configurable by you (the program knows three different modes of revenue calculation): just follow the second link from Combuijs (last post in that topic). Edit: please forget this part of my post, I misread you post. But there have been topics about changes to routing.
With new payment system making profitable city transportation (pak128) is a really nightmare. For big city it's only possible by creating many lines to cover most city titles. 6 lines per city? Pretty annoying. Making this optional is very good idea to me.
