Difficulty mode

The current discussion seems to require a more advanced difficulty mode setting. Like Beginner/Normal/Advance/Custom.

The mode setting would affect:
- crossconnection
- total price modifier
- maybe p****enger production rates
- maybe only p****engers to connected stations for beginner mode
- Transfer count
- maybe total traveling time
- forbid overcrowding of stations

OF course done in a wait that it does not impact performance too much.

That's not a bad suggestion - I particularly like "custom". If it involves taking a number of settings out of simuconf.tab and putting them in the GUI, that is a good thing, too, especially for players who are either new to the game or not fond of tinkering with settings files.

Custom rules and the more customizable, the better!

Custom rules should offer also a GUI interface to edit several player-wise options from simuconf.dat (and also add_industry_every from cityrules.dat). this would ease many non-geek players...

The one "beginner" issue that keeps reappearing: enable all cargo in station.

My projects... Tools for messing with Simutrans graphics. Graphic archive - templates and some other stuff for painters. Development logs for most recent information on what is going on. And of course pak128!

I don't need several ready-made settings like advanced mode.
Many different settings only confuse players.
Normal/Custom is enough.

There can be a custom options dialog and several preconfigured defaults and one custom.

What about to put those custom settings in scenarios too?
