Leyland London buses August 18, 2008, 09:57:42 pm For those double-decker buses lovers, I'm developing a pak of Leyland Olympian and Atlantean buses with London city color schemes. The pak will consist of about 50 buses (now I've finish 36). The project is about 60%. This is a preview. Quote Selected Last Edit: August 23, 2008, 11:26:48 pm by vilvoh
Re: Leyland London buses Reply #1 – August 19, 2008, 08:49:46 am Hey, nice, but... is it just me, or do they all miss shading? (Many official vehicles on that screen have the same problem...) Quote Selected
Re: Leyland London buses Reply #2 – August 19, 2008, 09:03:31 am Some of them use bright color schemes, and I sometimes have problems with light position. But you're right..the strange thing is that it only happens with the south view... . Check the png source files Quote Selected
Re: Leyland London buses Reply #3 – August 19, 2008, 06:33:47 pm You are right, it's an optical illusion. Maybe because the front is always cabin -> gl**** -> dark colors -> other look bright in comparison. Quote Selected
Re: Leyland London buses Reply #4 – August 20, 2008, 09:07:36 pm It's almost finished. I just have to add special colors, and correct the alignment. This is a pre-release of the pak. Finally, they're 34 buses. Quote Selected Last Edit: November 11, 2008, 04:37:58 pm by vilvoh
Re: Leyland London buses Reply #5 – August 24, 2008, 07:07:04 pm Release of the first part, 10 Leyland Olympian buses. Quote Selected
Re: Leyland London buses Reply #6 – August 25, 2008, 06:13:50 pm Second part, 7 Leyland Titan buses. In general, they are better than Olympian ones (faster, heavier, more capacity, more expensive) Most of the object names from this part are invented... Re: Leyland London buses Reply #7 – August 26, 2008, 01:47:12 pm In fact, the graphics of the buses can applied for Pak-96 buses.(Sounded a bit larger than my Pak-64 double-deckers fleet...)PS The only exported Titan was serving HK (CMB) during 1970s...(so,thinking about getting that "TC1" alive in Pak 64 buses...but I got used my old creation for the new one...)PS2 BTW I get the dat data and the graphic of CMB-TC for all[the dat, copy them with your "notebook" program and save it as *.datand don't forget deleting the space after changing lines.]obj=vehiclename=CMB-TCcopyright=LNBCenginetype=dieselwaytype=roadfreight=P****agierespeed=110cost=550000payload=73weight=10power=180RunningCost=39Gear=200Constraint[Prev][0]=noneConstraint[Next][0]=noneEmptyImage[ S ] =CMB-TC.0.0(Delete the space between the S.Thank you.)EmptyImage[E] =CMB-TC.0.1EmptyImage[SE]=CMB-TC.0.2EmptyImage[SW]=CMB-TC.0.3EmptyImage[N]=CMB-TC.0.4EmptyImage[W]=CMB-TC.0.5EmptyImage[NW]=CMB-TC.0.6EmptyImage[NE]=CMB-TC.0.7[dat ends. A quick comparison: Yours MineHeight: 12px 14px ~ 3.5 - 4 mWidth: 6px 6px ~ 2mLong: 15px 25px ~ 4.3 - 7.5 mReal life measures: 9.56 m long by 2.50 m wide by 4.4 m high. So as you said, they're very large, in reference to game scale but I would like to be as realistic as possible with the measures. Stuff happens when you're dealing with scales.Quote from: LNBC – on August 26, 2008, 01:47:12 pmPS The only exported Titan was serving HK (CMB) during 1970s...The truth is that this last part (Titan pak) has no real data. I mean, when I was gathering the information and photos, I just started to download beautifull photos, one after other... ...I didn't care about which was the bus model of the picture. So when I started with the modeling process, I realized that I even had the name of most of them. That's why I've had to invent most of the attributes, including names, dates and others. Re: Leyland London buses Reply #9 – August 27, 2008, 10:44:24 pm I see what vilvoh's means. In fact, the dat I provided came from the 2nd-hand datafrom that only Titan in our town once upon a time. Here comes the specification of TC1 (1980-1995):Engine=Gardner 6LXB (150 bph)[a very common rear engine at that 1970s buses]Bodyworks=Park Royal[In fact,I was hardly found a Titan without that Park Royal bodyworks(alike the Matchbox's Titan)...Say that it were rebodied--for vilvoh's version.]Seats=73 [That's why CMB coded it was a Coach-no standing p****engers allowed. In fact, it was a test pet to CMB arrived in 1979.]Of course, CMB's TC1 is only a trace to Leyland Titan (B15),but it is for sure, Olympian (B45) comes after it-overwhelming the roads in UK, HK and Singapore(as well as some of them serving somewhere else).PS The remaining 1124 of them are/were serving in local EnglandWould our beloved vilvoh get a try to search started from London Transport?(As well as the Olympians (B45).)PS2 I doesn't matter about scaling-but it sounded very different to our lone test pet.(Since I perfer a bigger scaling for singledeckers.)Hope those hints works for this project-and I am looking a Lyxn (I'm hardly recall that singledecker model.Sorry for that.) rolling out. Are you refering to this Lynx?If so, first of all I've to finish the last pak (18 Leyland Atlantean buses) after that I could try something with single-decker buses. In fact, they're quite easy to create, if you are able to find a blueprint (much better if you find a blueprint with the color scheme) You can see an example about how I've created the different leyland buses in the blogP.S: At the lynx link, you can find tons of info about that model and many others. Re: Leyland London buses Reply #12 – August 29, 2008, 03:50:59 pm Oh, yes~You got it correctly our beloved vilvoh. XDIn fact, our Hong Kong folks relied (and still relying!) Leyland doubledeckersfor getting around--that's why I felt interested in those singledeckersmuch more than those doubledeckers do (since some of our folks might be riding all of them: [so, may I introduce a little bit more.])(1)Atlanteans: PDR 1/1 and AN68 (all of them were second-handed when they arrived.)(2)Fleetlines: some 300+ 2nd handed DMS and those brand-new built (around 800.)(3)Victory Mk II: the bus with its engine placed on the front-not for quiet commuting.(4)Titan: both front-engined PD3/4 and PD3/5, and the sole Titan B15 coach. [Shall we go on for more?](5)Olympian: "you can find it there-" (not matter downtown or suburb new towns, butthose Volvo's one were replacing their jobs--not matter they are air-con. or not.)[For branches of the Leyland Group-Guy, Albion, Daimler are not listed. Another long story-to-tell. How UK buses getting involved in our folks lives in HK.]Not to discourage our Devotee vilvoh, I am just happy to hear from you.(In fact, our Hong Kong folks mainly pak their buses in Pak 128.Before I rolled my creation in Pak 64-there were too few for the game. That's why I started created paks in Pak 64 format. Or not, Pak 64 will become a boring world to play with.)Therefore, I believe that it is too early to give those doubledeckers up-at lease-those old-fashioned, lovely Routemasters and more cl****ic stuffes.(Somelse from HK: my beloved LNBC, where're the Guy series? At when you could finishing pak-making and uploading?[LNBC: ])You may also try some of our well-known London buses in Hong Kong(Started from Fleetline DMS-since they were actually run on London roads once upon the time.)and some of our folks did created papercraft of those buses-sounded helpful for painting images.PS "London Transport" is just a searching word for web-searching, just like searching "CMB" for their Guy Arabs.Use them on any web-searching engines like Google. [Even do with the photo search!]For requesting creations from our Devotee vilvoh-thanks a lot , but thanks a lot .(My depot got a lot of them-and still increasing that needed to dump some of them unused)Just one of the posts with my previous creation (The back-up sounded OK for downloading):http://archive.forum.simutrans.com/topic/05268.0/index.htmlFor searching the old forum, please feel free to click the link:http://archive.forum.simutrans.com/ Quote Selected Last Edit: August 29, 2008, 04:01:26 pm by LNBC
Re: Leyland London buses Reply #13 – August 29, 2008, 04:18:09 pm Ok. So, could you please post a detailed list with the models you would want to? Mainly, try to find the technical info and some blueprints if possible, too. BTW, No more than 10, so choose well. After that we'll see what can we do...I can't promise a lot, my beloved LNBC. I'm a little busy right now but who knows... Quote Selected Last Edit: September 25, 2008, 07:48:52 am by vilvoh
