Ok so what gives? no power to factories.

Ok I have to admit I have not been playing the game for a while (4-5 months at least due to work) and I didn't think it would change all that much.
Is there a reason why when I attach power lines and transformers to factories there is no power getting to them?

The only factories that seem to use the power is coal mines, I've tried a few others and when I click on the power lines and transformers the readout tells me that power is there but that none is available, as I have said only coal mines use it.

Is this a new "feature" that until the factories are connected to their respective consumers and suppliers that they don't use power or is it just a bug?

version 100.0 with pak128

No, power is now consumed at a higher rate, and to balance this, power is only consumed when something is produced. No sane company would pay for electricity if it does not use it ...
