new to forum help

I see that some people have different numbers of coloured boxes beside their name. What do they mean ??? and how do you get them?

Also, I don't seem to be able to start a poll, I don't have the "start new poll" button. would this have something to do with the boxes?

Newbies can't start polls. Moreover, polls are not available at all boards. You must ask for them to the board mods. The boxes are post counters, the more you post, the more you get.

I want to see what operating system people play on, including emulation of the os's
