City building development requirment November 28, 2008, 04:35:23 am May be it is too much game tweaking if both industry chain and p****enger/mail services are required to the new city building development to occur? Or make it heavily important to serve both so it grows as current manner? It seems they grow too well. If you play the game several decade, good area of some map can be covered by city area.-----------------------Latest Update----------------------*Most of Goods transported? YES NO> Little P****/Mail demand created. Thus little chance for growth. V More P****/Mail demand created. V Are they served well? YES NO>Slower Growth V Faster Growth-----------------------------------edit--------------------------------------------------- Different role for p****enger and industry chain. [New development check list](example) start>>> diminish // Map wise supply 0% of goods after 3years since game start. --->No P****enger/Mail demand created// (population deminishes) breakeven // Map wise supply under 15% of goods. --->No P****enger/Mail demand created// (no new development) // Map wise supply 16~33% of goods for few month. --->Severly Reduced P****enger/Mail demand created:40%// (very slow development ~7% of full rate)* ...... full version next next next reply of this thread. If you omit any of these, growth will be slower. So, I think what you want is already implemented... Quote Selected
Different role Reply #3 – December 02, 2008, 04:49:55 am Different role for p****enger and industry chain. (*No service At All for X months (for all map)= Population decrease)*No mail/p****enger demand at all in the beginning*Service quality on supplying industry chain decides overall map p****enger/mail generation rate.*Growth is only dependent on p****enger/mail service-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Industry Chain Service -> P****enger/mail Demand created -> P****enger/mail Serviced -> City Growth(no direct dependent from industry)------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [New development check list](example) start>>> diminish // Map wise supply 0% of goods after 3years since game start. --->No P****enger/Mail demand created// (population deminishes) breakeven // Map wise supply under 15% of goods. --->No P****enger/Mail demand created// (no new development) // Map wise supply 16~33% of goods for few month. --->Severly Reduced P****enger/Mail demand created:40%// (very slow development ~7% of full rate)* // Map wise supply 34~65% of goods for 6 more month. --->Reduced P****enger/Mail demand created:60%// (still slow development ~15% of full rate)* // Map wise supply 66%&+ of goods for one full year. --->Slightly reduced p****/mail demand generated:80%// (slow development ~24% of full rate)* // Map wise supply 75%&+ of goods for 3 full years. --->FULL P****enger/Mail demand generated:100%// (better development ~33% of full rate)* ///City wise supply 87%&+ of goods for 2 full years. --->75% development speed for this city. ///City wise supply 99 or 100% of goods for 3 full years. --->100% full development speed for this city. \\ City Wise factory supply of under 50%. --->No bonus \\ City wise factory supply of 50%~79%. --->10% development speed bonus. \\ City wise factory supply of 80%~94%. --->20% development speed bonus. \\ City wise factory supply of 95%~100%. --->30% development speed bonus. *Even if 100% of actual generated p****enger/post were transported, actual growth will be only ~7,~15,~24,~33% of what it would be normally. Re: City building development requirment Reply #4 – December 02, 2008, 11:28:00 am Your maint points seem to be:- make p****enger/mail generation depend also on goods supply (global and/or per-city)- city population decreases if no goods are delivered- make city growth depend more heavily on goods supply Quote Selected
Different Role (explanation2) Reply #5 – December 02, 2008, 02:36:50 pm Sorry for unclear chart and no clear explanation. This is mainly rigidly require to serve both industry and p****enger/mail to have city growth.Quote- make p****enger/mail generation depend also on goods supply (global and/or per-city)-whoami Actual growth will cariburated by mail/p****enger departure ONLY.Quotecity population decreases if no goods are delivered-whoami Yes, if only none of final distributor(including power plant) gets any input after 3years since the game have started.Quote- make city growth depend more heavily on goods supply-whoami Only mail/p****enger does affect growth.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Industry Chain Service -> P****enger/mail Demand created -> P****enger/mail Serviced -> City Growth(no direct dependent from industry)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------(*No service At All for X months (for all map)= Population decrease)*No mail/p****enger demand at all in the beginning*Service quality on supplying industry chain decides overall map p****enger/mail generation rate.*Growth is only dependent on p****enger/mail service________________________________________________________________________________________________________________***Ultimately, I wished farm to maintain population, plank-steel-concrete to allow new city building, power plant to all factory to function .... and that kind of thing. City needs supplies to grow. Building materials or food (supermarket) for example. Growing dependent of delivered goods is very sensible to me. Quote Selected
Re: City building development requirment Reply #7 – December 07, 2008, 04:46:16 pm Sarrus I agree that good are needed to grow. But in current model, they will grow anyway without any goods transported. Its that its little bit slower. In the model I'm proposing, the tranporting goods are absolute requirment inorder to have any growth. Because No goods tranported means nop****enger/mail demand created and thats finally means no growth. It is that HOW FAST it will grow depend only on the p****/mail service.More goods tranported means more p****/mail demand and thats equal to more opportunity for faster growth if one suceed to serve as much as p****/mail as possible.*Most of Goods transported? YES NO> Little P****/Mail demand created. Thus little chance for growth. V More P****/Mail demand created. V Are they served well? YES NO>Slower Growth V Faster GrowthI'would like to make all process linear more than parallel as right now. Quote Selected
Re: City building development requirment Reply #8 – December 09, 2008, 03:19:29 pm The problem is, that there are many players who only play with p****engers/mail or only with goods. In order to make sure there is a progress in both cases city growth is dependant on the existence of at least one form of transport. Quote Selected
